Conversations with my co-workers opened my eyes to a disheartening reality. The majority were trapped in the same cycle, chasing the illusion of financial security. But as I dug deeper, I discovered the personal tragedies that unfolded beneath the surface. One co-worker, plagued by health issues, could barely muster the strength to operate his machine. Another squandered his hard-earned wages on vices that only served to perpetuate his misery. However, one particular conversation struck a chord within me, leaving an indelible mark on my soul.

A Wake-Up Call:

I spoke with a man who had been labouring ceaselessly for four months, teetering on the precipice of losing everything he held dear. His relationship with his soon to be wife was crumbling he went on to lose her after being away for so long, and he was missing out on the moments that make life worth living, what was the point of even having this job. When I implored him to return home before it was too late, his response. "I must keep earning money," he said, as if imprisoned by an unrelenting drive for financial security. But the question remained: why did he need this money so desperately? His answer left me stunned and disheartened: "I need to save it for a rainy day." It was then that I realized we were all living on autopilot, sacrificing the present for an uncertain future.

Breaking Free:

This revelation compelled me to revaluate my own existence, to step out of the shadows of complacency and reclaim my life. I understood that the unconscious pursuit of money had stripped us of our vitality, joy, and connection to the world around us.
